Roadtrip 2009 - Day 1
Miles driven (today): 230 Miles driven (all time): 230 For the next two weeks (or-so) I will be keeping a daily blog of our adventure. My father, my brother, and myself are spending the first few weeks of August traveling the great-lakes (ish) region of the United States and parts of Canada. Besides torrential downpours at times, the trip from home in the southern part of New York up to...

Roadtrip - Day 12
Miles Driven (today): 520 Miles Driven (all time): 3241  Last night was terrible! We had to change rooms in the middle of the night because the folks staying in the room next door were making too much noise!  In the morning, we got the tour of CNN and visited the Georgia Aquarium.  We left Atlanta at about 11:30AM and drove as long as we could (well, my dad could). We are now in a hotel room...

Roadtrip - Day 11
Miles Driven (today): 475 Miles Driven (all time): 2721  We left New Orleans early this morning and drove straight to Atlanta, Georgia. On the way, we hit so nasty storms. We felt like storm chasers!  We got to Atlanta late this afternoon and headed to Ted’s Montana Grill.  Tomorrow, we are going to go on the CNN Tour, Georgia Aquarium and start on our way back home.

Roadtrip - Day 10
Miles Driven (today): 0 Miles Driven (all time): 2246  New Orleans is an amazing city. We woke up this morning and had the best breakfast yet at Cafe Du Mond. Iced coffee and beignets. Yum! Then we took a taxi to Tulane University and bought various items in their bookstore.  We rode the trolley cars to lunch at a local burger place and took a nap. After the nap, we got the car and drove down...

Roadtrip - Day 9
Miles Driven (today): 553 Miles Driven (all time): 2246  Today, we left Dallas early in the morning (yet the thermometer seemed like it was noon). We traveled throughout the day to New Orleans, LA.  Once we got to New Orleans, we checked into the hotel, took a well deserved rest and then headed out for dinner (I can’t remember the name). I had fried aligator!  After dinner, we headed to...

Roadtrip - Day 5
Miles Driven (today): 358 Miles Driven (all time): 1693 This morning we slept in, ate breakfast at the hotel and drove a minute to the Clinton Presidential Library. It was SPECTACULAR (both the building and the contents)! I like when I can learn in a state-of-the-art way. President Clinton was the president when I was born, but I really didn’t know too much about him, now I do! Then we...

Roadtrip - Day 4
Miles Driven (today): 360 Miles Driven (all time): 1335 We woke up early and said goodbye to Nashville. We spent a good part of the morning in the car to go to Memphis, TN. When we got to Memphis (I am a bit ashamed to say this), we visited Graceland. We didn’t want to get a tour of the house, so we only purchased tickets to look at his airplane collection.  After Graceland, we went to...

Roadtrip - Day 3
Miles Driven (today): 0  Miles Driven (all time): 975 Day three was a nice break after two days of almost non-stop driving. We spent the entire day in Nashville.  We visited and poked around Vanderbilt University and also visited the Country Music Hall of Fame.  I’m not (necessarily) a complainer about heat, but it was very hot out.  But, its just a taste of what’s to come.  ...

Roadtrip - Day 2
Miles Driven (today): 595  Miles Driven (all time): 975 Day two is complete, and we beat our goal! The goal was to stop and spend the night in Knoxville, TN, but after careful thought, we decided to drive a few more hours to Nashville, TN.  We arrived in Nashville in the late afternoon and had a good BBQ dinner.  The plan for tomorrow is to stick around and sightsee in Nashville.

Roadtrip - Day 1
Miles Driven (today): 380  Miles Driven (all time): 380 Day One of the road-trip was long, tedious, yet somewhat enjoyable. We left home (New York) at around 7:30AM, drove through New Jersey, Pennsylvania and we stopped in Shenandoah National Park for the night.  I amused myself by watching various Revison 3 shows on my iPhone and reading gadget blogs. It susprises me that we had mobile...

Control Your Mac from Your iPhone
When version 2.0 software came out for the iPhone a few weeks ago, the one big thing that I was exited to see was the ability to control your Mac via your iPhone. A nifty little program called VNC Lite does just that.  Using VNC Lite is a two-step process.  Step 1 - On Your Mac In order for VNC Lite to work, your Mac must be configured to enable remote management. In System Preferences, go to...
